1908-2007

Former Williston, N.D., resident Lillian Green, 98, Great Falls, died at Peace Hospice Monday, March 19, 2007, of natural causes. Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Fulkerson's Funeral Home in Williston. Rev. Lee Herberg officiated, and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview.

Lillian Green was born on July 21, 1908, to Julius and Matilda (Derruder) Pieters at Cartwright, N.D. She was raised and educated in the area.

Lillian was united in marriage to Everett Green in 1931. The couple farmed in the Fairview and Dore areas until they purchased a farm in the Buford Trenton Irrigation Project in the late 1940s. Lillian greatly enjoyed being a part of the farm life, in addition, she worked at the Buford School as a cook and was a great seamstress and worked at J.C. Penney Co. as an alteration person for 13 years.

She was a greatmother and grandmother. Her family was very important to her. One of her favorite things was to work outside - whether it was mowing on her John Deere tractor, working in her big garden, or taking care that there were not any weeds in the windbreak of trees on the farm.

Lillian was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Buford. After she moved to Williston, she became a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

After the passing of her husband, she moved to Williston and joined a singles club. They enjoyed dancing and playing cards. She also became a member of the Williston Moose Lodge.

We bid her goodbye in body, but not spirit. Her spirit will live in our hearts until we meet again.

Lillian is survived by a daughter, Bette K. Green, a grandson John Siller and his wife, Tammie, two great- grandsons Colten Everett and Michael John, all of Great Falls; sisters Madeline Green, Portland, Ore., Evelyn Jewett, Wibaux, and Marion (Ervin) Evanson, Williston, N.D.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; a daughter Donnabelle in 1944; brothers William and Robert Pieters; and a sister Elizabeth (Betty) Lapp.

Memorials are suggested to Peace Hospice, 2600 15th Ave. S, Great Falls, MT 59405 or the American Cancer Society, 550 N. 31st St. #103, Billings, MT 59101.
