Youth rodeo competitors excel in high school, YRA year-end standings

With the high school, youth rodeo season recently completed, several Montana and North Dakota athletes ended the season with strong performances.

For Montana high school competitors, Joyce Wick finished fourth in the girls rookie high school standings. In the Youth Rodeo Association, Wick placed fifth in senior girls breakaway roping, fifth in pole bending, 11th in goat tying, 13th in barrels and 10th in all around.

Victoria Netzer placed fourth in pole bending in the high school standings. In the YRA senior standings, Netzer placed second in poles, 13th in goat tying, sixth in barrels and 11th in all around. Kayleen Searer finished seventh in breakaway, 11th in barrels and 12th in all around in the YRA senior standings. Ian Kunesh placed 10th in bull riding in the high school standings.

In North Dakota high school rodeo, Tess Haugen placed second in breakaway, first in cow cutting, 11th in barrels and fourth in all around. Bronc Pippert placed second in team roping, fourth in steer wrestling and fifth in all around. Charlie Pennington placed fifth in team roping and 12th in steer wrestling. Ty Tescher finished 14th in bull riding.

In the YRA junior girls standings, Jaycee Searer finished 10th in goat tying, eighth in barrels and third in pole bending. Bridger Rice finished 16th in goat tying, 12th in barrels and 19th in poles. Taylor Searer, in the YRA junior boys standings, finished 11th in breakaway, 15th in goat tying and 15th in the flag race.
