Eagles roll to victory in Miles City

Sidney's boys basketball squad accounted for the game's first 13 points and never looked back as the Eagles earned a 75-46 victory in Miles City Thursday.

Two baskets by Matt Brenner and a shot by Allen Andersen gave the Eagles a quick 6-0 advantage. Sidney increased the gap to 10-0 on a drive by Tyrell McPherson and a short jumper by Andersen.

A three-pointer by Jordan Abelseth gave Sidney a 13-0 advantage.

Miles City got on the scoreboard when Ryan McChesney hit a 17-footer with 3:56 left in the first quarter.

A three-pointer by Eathan Murnin at the end of the quarter closed the gap to 18-10.

With the score at 18-11, the Eagles ran off 10 straight points on six points by Andersen, an inside hoop by Brenner and a basket by Nathan Johnson.

The Eagles enjoyed a 37-23 lead at intermission.

With the score at 41-27 in the third quarter, Sidney accounted for 11 of the next 13 points for a 52-29 margin. Johnson tallied seven, Jared Baisch scored two and Andersen had two during the streak.

The Eagles led by a 55-32 margin at the end of the third quarter.

Sidney's top scorers were Johnson with 16, Baisch with 16, Andersen with 14 and Brenner with 12.

Rounding out the scoring were Abelseth with seven, Carl Dynneson with five, Tyrell McPherson with four and Beau Prevost with one.

Miles City's top scorers were Kasey Stanton with nine and JT Keith with eight.
