Affordable housing, housing options for seniors, rental units and identifying areas for new housing developments are just a few of the issues that Richland County is currently facing.
Both a discussion session and a longer, large group lunch discussion session have been set aside during the “State of the Community” County-Wide Conference to offer you the opportunity to come and share your views on the issues affecting housing in our communities.

From these identified topic areas a conference facilitator will lead the group discussion on the identified topics. The facilitator will help to gather information about what concerns residents have, as well as ideas, plans and action that could be put into motion.
There has also been an afternoon session set aside dedicated to discussing any remaining topics and to ensure that affordable housing, especially for low-to-moderate income earners, housing shortages and housing for seniors are addressed.
This session will also be conducted by a trained conference facilitator to ensure each attendee has the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas on what future developments would be needed to keep Richland County’s housing affordable and accessible.
Each attendee will also be provided with the opportunity to help identify any future needs or desires for the housing market and development.
The “State of the Community” County-Wide Conference will be held on March 14, at the Assembly of God Conference Center, registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
The conference is sponsored by the Richland County Planner Office, City/County Planning Board and the Richland County Health Department.
