Ruth Page Bock Cecil

Ruth Page Bock Cecil was born on May 16, 1953, in Sidney, to Hilda (Muecke) Bock and John Bock.

She passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008, at her home in Mountain Park, Okla.


Page was raised in Sidney and attended school there, graduating in 1971.

After high school, she attended Cottey College for two years and then the University of North Dakota, where she majored in business. She married Shaun Cecil in 1975, and divorced him after their children had graduated from high school.

She was a legal secretary for several years and then devoted her life to raising her children. She moved to Mountain Park in the late 1980s and was an avid gardener and former president of the Snyder Garden Club.

She enjoyed spending time with her dog, pursuing her art, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her life-partner, Steven Parsons, Mountain Park, Okla.; her father and mother, John and Hilda Bock, Sidney; her sons, Julian Cecil and wife, Tara; grandsons, Ashton, Mustang, Okla., and Andrew Cecil and wife, Stacey, Royse City, Texas; her daughter Rebecca Cecil Peterson and husband, Zach, and granddaughter, Abbagael, Lawton, Okla.; her sisters, Phyllis Bock and husband, Bob Nichol, Bozeman; and Maureen Bock, Salem, Ore.

A funeral service was held in Snyder, Okla., on June 7, 2008. Burial was at the Mountain Park, Okla., Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held on Aug. 2, 2008, at the Peoples Congregational Church in Sidney, where Page was baptized.
