Richland Economic Development saluted by state economic office Richland Economic Development received a pleasant surprise Friday when the mail contained an honor from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The plaque from the office saluted Richland Economic Development for its contribution in Richland County and the state of Montana. “We’re very, very thrilled,” Leslie Messer, executive director for Richland Economic Development, said. “I’m just so pleased. It’s quite an honor.” A letter from Evan Barrett, chief business officer, read, “I am pleased to present you with this plaque to thank and recognize you for the contributions your organization has made to Montana’s economic growth. Your efforts have opened opportunities for new and existing businesses, and have helped strengthen your communities.” Barrett also wrote, “The governor and the G.O.E.D. are grateful for your hard work, and look forward to continuing to work with you to help develop your area and to keep Montana on the move.” Messer said her office is humbled by the award. “It feels good to know the efforts we’re striving for are paying off,” Messer said. The award was originally scheduled to be presented during Barrett’s visit to Sidney earlier this year. There, however, was a shipping delay of the plaque that made the presentation impossible. editor@sidneyherald.com |
