Dr. Anthony Thiessen and the Healthy Smiles Dental Group staff are excited to include complete orthodontic care for all ages into their practice.
Thiessen has been trained in neuromuscular dentistry at one of the leading institutes in the world. Neuromuscular dentistry brings a whole new dimension to treatment planning. In addition to traditional data, neuromuscular dentistry carefully studies the status of the muscles of the jaw and the condition of the upper airway. This allows the ability to not only precisely evaluate where the teeth should be, but to better understand what caused them to be out of alignment.
Neuromuscular dentists know that by removing the cause, as part of the treatment, teeth can be moved more quickly, relapse is minimized, if not eliminated, and the resulting bite is optimized for function and comfort.

Thiessen feels in seeing children early to rule out and/or treat complicating factors that may lead to future orthodontics and possibly even prevent braces through early appliance therapy. Thiessen is very excited to offer these services to Sidney and the surrounding area. He will also continue to provide complete comprehensive dental services for his patients and will continue his advanced education in cosmetic dentistry
Thiessen and the Healthy Smiles Dental Group staff thanks Richland Economic Development for its encouragement and complete support to incorporate neuromuscular orthodontics into their neuromuscular practice. “Leslie Messer and the RED business development committee have worked diligently for several years to recruit and or assist with training to successfully attain orthodontic services to Sidney and the MonDak region,” Thiessen said.
Thiessen lives by the office motto “Changing Lives With Beautiful Smiles” and firmly believes neuromuscular dentistry and neuromuscular orthodontics is the type of care that can change your lives. “It is care you deserve,” Thiessen said.
