Child safety kits, which include the DNA and fingerprinting kits, will be available at the Sunrise Festival of the Arts Saturday by the local Women of the Moose. The child safety booth will be set up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park. “We have 200 kits ordered,” LaVanchie Starkey, Woman of the Moose, said.
Each kit consists of a child identification fingerprinting kit, a DNA isolation card, protective sleeve, sterile cotton swabs and complete instructions. By having your child at the child safety kit booth, parents are prepared should their child become missing. The kit provides police with necessary information for investigating such cases. Sidney Police Department will be on hand to do the fingerprinting of each child.
