Voters in Sidney will have a choice to make in two wards when city council elections are held in November.
In Ward I, two newcomers to the position have filed for the vacancy left by retiring councilman Paul Groshart. Melissa Boyer and Ken Koffler have each filed for the office.
In Ward III, former city councilman Bill Linder filed to challenge incumbent Janet Sergent.

Bret Smelser is running uncontested in Sidney’s mayoral race.
In Fairview, Mayor Bryan Cummins, Judge Ray Trumpower and treasurer Graycie Sharbono have filed for re-election and are all unopposed.
Councilmen Dan Cayko and Regan Taylor have filed for re-election for two of Fairview’s three open positions.
