Gloria Huse

1942-2009

Memorial services for Gloria Huse, 67, Sidney, are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Elwin Paulson, the Sidney Health Center chaplin, officiating.

Interment of cremains will be in the Sidney Cemetery under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.fulkersons.com.

Gloria was born May 18, 1942, in Sidney to John and Lydia (Haffner) Gable. She was raised on an irrigated farm. Gloria attended school at Newlon and Anderson through the sixth grade, graduating from Sidney High School in 1960. She then attended Carroll College where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree as a registered nurse in 1963.


She worked at the Great Falls Deaconess Hospital as an emergency room and surgical nurse. Gloria became head of the surgical nursing department.

She married Robert Huse in November of 1964, and they returned to Sidney in 1972 where they went into farming. She worked as an RN at the Sidney Memorial Hospital and the extended care facility for a brief time after which she helped her husband on the farm.

Gloria loved gardening, raising flowers and especially enjoyed cooking.

On Sept. 23, 2009, Gloria suffered a massive stroke in the same bedroom of the house where she was born. She passed away the next day.

Gloria is survived by: her husband, Robert, Sidney; daughter, Tresté Huse, Erie, Colo.; three sisters, Betty Snow, Havelock, N.C., Janet Kemmer, Hollister, Calif., Kay (Jerry) Schaefer, Bozeman; brother, John Gable, Sidney; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lydia; a sister, Shirley; and a niece, Leslie.
