The Christmas Stroll in Sidney is a great way to kick off the holiday season. Contests, a visit from Santa and a night-time parade are some of the attractions that you can enjoy in downtown Sidney Friday.
If you’re young or have children, you can enjoy the day after Thanksgiving with a matinee at Centre Theatre at 1 p.m. Admission price is only $5.
Santa then arrives straight from the North Pole to hear children’s Christmas wishes. The Jolly Old Elf will be available for photos from 3-5:30 p.m. at the Village Square Mall.

You don’t want to miss the first soup contest for the Christmas Stroll. It takes place at Restorx from 5-6:30 p.m., so make sure you go there and sample all the soups for just $1.50. Children, meanwhile, can have fun decorating cookies at Restorx during the same time.
Don’t miss getting a beautiful tree or wreath at The Parade of Trees auction from 6-7 p.m. in the Village Square Mall. Finally, the Parade of Lights begins on Central Avenue at 7 p.m.; take note of the new time.
It’s a lot of fun to begin the Christmas season. So make a point to come and support our local businesses.
