Three Fairview football players earned Eastern C All-Conference honors for their efforts during the 2009 season. The trio of seniors helped the Warriors finish 3-5 and play competitive football all season long.

Josh Taylor earned All-Conference first team honors on offense and second team on defense. The senior running back led Fairview with 806 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. Taylor also finished with 262 yards and two touchdowns receiving on nine catches.

On defense, the senior safety finished with 57 tackles including 38 stops. Taylor also recordered two sacks and two interceptions.

“Josh put in the time over the years to propel himself into an All-Conference player. He was our team leader and captain. You’ll never meet a harder working kid than Josh Taylor,” Warrior coach Kevin Clausen said.

Edgar Luna earned All-Conference honors for his defensive efforts. The senior linebacker finished with 74 tackles including 48 solo stops. Luna finished with five sacks on the season.

“Edgar wasn’t going to back down from anybody. No matter the game or opponent, he was ready to fill a gap with authority,” Clausen said.

Tayler Kittleson was named to the All-Conference second team on defense. The senior lineman recorded 43 stops including 25 solo tackles. Kittleson had five sacks and two fumble recoveries.

“Tayler created mismatches for opponents by using his raw determination and quickness. He was an outstanding defensive player. His leadership will be missed,” Clausen said.
