Christmas dinner

The Sidney Knights of Columbus will have its annual Christmas dinner for the community from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Christmas Day (Friday) at the St. Matthew’s multi-purpose room. The meal will feature turkey and ham with all the trimmings. Everyone’s invited, and volunteers are welcomed. People can make a free-will offering. Call 433-2510 for deliveries.

Holiday deadlines

Deadlines for the Sidney Herald during the holidays are noon Wednesday for Sunday’s paper, 2 p.m. Dec. 28 for the Dec. 30 paper, and noon Dec. 30 for the Jan. 3 paper.

Garbage pick up

The Friday garbage route in Sidney during Christmas and New Year’s Day will be picked up on Thursday.

Farewell coffee hour

Lonsdale United Methodist Church invites everyone to its farewell coffee hour for Pastor Gene Erickson on Sunday, following worship service which ends at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Gene will move to Grass Range where she will be an interim pastor for the congregation there. Join Lonsdale members as they bid farewell to Pastor Gene and wish her well. Call Elaine Stedman at 488-4390 if you have any questions.

Walking event

The Sidney Lions Club will hold a Walking to Wellness walk in Sidney High School Jan. 16. Walkers may start any time from 8-9:30 a.m. The indoor walking event is for the entire family. Students are invited to participate, but they must be accompanied by an adult. One lap is a half mile, but each walker can challenge themself on distance.
