Raymond (Ray) A. Macik, 81, passed away Saturday morning Jan. 23, 2010, in Billings, with his loving family at his bedside.

Ray was born March 12, 1928, to William and Theresa (Link) Macik Ellingson in Alexander, N.D. He was raised on the family farm near Alexander.

He met the love of his life, Laura McIntyre, and they were married Sept. 26, 1952. They farmed and ranched in the Squaw Gap community where they raised their family.

In the spring of 1980, they moved to Billings where he worked as a cabinet maker for Commercial Cabinets and Dovetail Design until his retirement in 2005.

They enjoyed traveling with friends and family. For their 50th wedding anniversary, they vacationed in Hawaii.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and was a friend to all who knew him and would lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a man who never realized how many lives he truly touched. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, William Macik, his stepfather, Elling Ellingson, and his beloved mother, Theresa.

Ray is survived by his wife, Laura, of 57 years, Billings; his sister, Verna (Rodney) Wolf, Killdeer, N.D.; his three children, Nyla Bent, Billings, Steve (Taunya) Macik, Winnemucca, Nev., and LaRae (Duane) Neprud, Billings; seven grandchildren, Dyron, Mandy, Carol, Truman, Stephanie, Steven and Kasi Bo; and four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Diego, Weston and Mia.

A funeral service will be held at New Hope Wesleyan Church, 721 26th St .West in Williston, N.D. , Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. CST. A luncheon will follow the service with interment at Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Horizon Hospice House ,1019 Neptune, Billings, MT 59105.
