Funeral services for Ida Anderson, 97, Sidney, were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastor Paul Turek officiating.

Interment will be in the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery at McCabe at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.fulkersons.com.

Ida Theresa was born on Dec. 24, 1912, in Anamoose, N.D., to parents John and Sarah (Reichert) Wesner. She had two brothers and five sisters. At the age of 8, the family moved to northeastern Montana to the Homestead-Froid area where she attended schools through the eighth grade.

Ida worked and lived on the family farm until she was united in marriage to Henry Anderson on June 30, 1934. Henry and Ida lived on their farm at McCabe until their retirement. When they retired they moved into Culbertson. They did not have any children, but they had many nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Henry, died on April 11, 1985, and Ida remained in Culbertson. In 1990, Ida moved to Sidney and in April of 2008, she entered Sidney Health Center Extended Care facility.

Ida was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Sidney. She was active in the church activities like Sunday school, choir, ALCW and Women of Life. She was also a member of senior citizens. She enjoyed doing needlework, knitting, crocheting, quilting, reading, doing cross word puzzles, cooking, ladies gatherings, helping hands, playing bingo and music.

Ida died on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care facility in Sidney.

Ida is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, John and William; five sisters, Martha, Emilia, Anna, Edela and Helen.
