Fairview dominated the rebounding battle and earned a 55-27 District 2-C girls basketball win in Savage Friday.
Fairview Coach Mark Thompson said he felt his team did a good job on the defensive end and with boxing out while rebounding. He was forced to substitute more often because of illnesses and injuries.
A three-pointer by Hanna Jepsen kept Savage close in the first quarter, but a three-point play by Katie Hardy and a three-pointer by Jordan Gifford put the margin at 12-4. After Savage’s Stephanie Nollmeyer was good from the corner, Morgan Klose hit a pull-up jumper for a 14-6 lead to end the period.
