Richland bantam squad to host tourney

The Richland Rangers’ Bantam hockey tournament will be held Friday through Sunday at Ranger Arena.

This group of kids, with the help of their parents, has hosted an annual hockey tournament nearly every year since they hit the ice as mites. These tournaments provide operating funds for the Rangers’ hockey association as well as bring teams and families to Sidney from several states and often Canada.

This year the teams participating in the Bantam tournament include Williston, N.D., Watford City, N.D., Glasgow, Havre, Sheridan, Wyo., and Gillette, Wyo.

The Rangers’ Bantam roster features Mitch Olson, Riley Simard, Jake Lunderby, Dillon Lunderby, Colton Hecker, Cayden Hecker, Lake Taylor, Bobby Frank and Connor Frank

Head Coach is Bryan McDowell. Assistant coaches are Jason Schmierer and Jay Frank.

Games begin Friday at 6 p.m. with Sidney taking on Watford City followed by Williston playing Glasgow at 8 p.m. Saturday games begin at 8 a.m. and run every two hours with the last game beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday games begin at 8 a.m. with the last game beginning at 2 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to enjoy some outstanding hockey and welcome these teams and families to Sidney.
