March is National Nutrition Month and on Tuesday, June Lewis, registered dietitian at Sidney Health Center, will be presenting “This or That: Healthy Bites of Nutrition” at Sidney Health Center’s Wellness for Life Brown Bag Lunch and Learn.

This month only, the Brown Bag Lunch and Learn will be at the Community Health Fair at the Sidney Assembly of God Event Center located at 414 East Main Street in Sidney. Every year seems to bring new food products and new health claims to go with them.

To the consumer, these claims and their terminology can be confusing and vague. Consumers want to make healthy choices, however a trip to the grocery store can become a mind-boggling adventure that leaves one to wonder, “What is a healthy choice?”Eating right doesn’t have to be complicated.

Starting with a healthy eating plan, which includes eating all the food groups, and armed with a basic knowledge of label-reading, a grocery shopping trip can be rewarding.

The end result being a healthier body and mind! June will unravel some of the confusing claims that are in the current media and give us some tidbits of nutritional knowledge. Plan to attend this event at the Community Health Fair in Sidney on Tuesday from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. If you would like additional information, call 488-2305.
