History just got a whole lot easier, at least in the MonDak Heritage Center’s history archives. With generous support from Mary Mercer and munificent donations from Pacific Steel and Recycling and Pro-Build in Sidney, the history library now has adequate and safe shelving for the many volumes of newspapers housed there.
Pacific Steel and Recycling donated the angle iron, precut for the bracing; and Pro-Build subsidized the wood for the shelves. Bill Forrester installed the shelving for the center. Thank you to all.
The MonDak Heritage Center’s history archive volunteers will have better access and control over the huge volumes. Although almost all of the newspapers are available on microfilm in Helena, the digital collection in the Heritage Center is not complete and use of the original papers is often necessary in searching out history of the MonDak region for the center and its patrons.
