The Youth Art Show runs through April 3.

What do the youth of our region see in the world around them? How do they translate what they see and feel? Very often these visions are expressed through works of art. The MonDak Heritage Center again proudly displays the creativity of our young people in the annual Youth Art Show, open to the public now through April 3.

The more technology and labor saving devices there are in the world, all designed to give us free time to indulge the imagination, the less time there seems to be to actually do it. If our youth can only find creative times during their school hours, then they must be encouraged lest they lose all desire to acquire a delight for a lifetime skill.

Please take time to come and view the wide variety of art works of charcoal, watercolors, acrylics, pen and ink and pottery. Come see what the youth of the MonDak region see.

Schools participating this year are: East Fairview, Dawson High School, Sidney Middle, Sidney High School and Liberty Christian School. There are more than 250 pieces to view.

Organizers thank Edward Jones Financial advisors Enid Huotari, Jerry Hughes and Nick Lonski for sponsoring the people’s choice awards again this year. Please stop in and view the art and vote for your favorite.
