The six-month battle for 13 area FFA chapters recently came to an end with the Leadership Division Sweepstakes. This last leg of district competition was hosted by Medicine Lake FFA chapter.

With 12 curriculums driven career development events completed, Sidney FFA maintained its lead over Richey and Opheim for the top honors. Richey FFA did receive first in an extremely tight leadership competition with Sidney and Opheim tying for second.

Special individual event winners were: Megan Greenwood placing third in public speaking, Emily Schaff earning first in creed speaking, and Ben Johnson taking second in extemporaneous speaking.

Tyler Goss and Tom Voll were parliamentary procedure members. Travis Obergfell placed sixth in Greenhand. The entire group made up the seventh-place parliamentary procedure team.

Wacey McMillen was a key player in production sweepstakes that built a comfortable lead heading into the Leadership Sweepstakes.

The 80th Montana State FFA Convention is at MSU Bozeman on March 24-27. Sidney FFA member Ethan Schaff and fellow state officers will direct the convention for more than 1,500 attendees. Chapter members look to have a successful convention.
