Fairview wins state crown, Sidney falls short

Perfection.

Fairview’s girls basketball squad capped off a 27-0 season with a 58-42 win over Saco-Whitewater in the Class C state championship game held in Great Falls Saturday.

Basketball is a game of momentum, and once you lose it often times it’s hard to get back. Billings Central used a 13-3 run in the second half of the state Class A title game Saturday night to take control, and Sidney just didn’t have an answer. The Rams held off the Eagles to wrap up the 50-42 win and the state championship.
