Once in a great while a book comes through the mail to my desk that deserves attention. I paged through “Change the World, Change your Life,” by 23-year-old Angela Perkey from Washington D.C. area.
Perkey is the founder of Students Serve, a national nonprofit that awards service grants to college students.
Perkey’s book, “Change the World, Change your Life,” provides a kind of blueprint for being of service and includes several pages of links to practical resources for starting a non-profit or other service agency.

April is National Service Month, and this book may help provide a way to discover your life purpose through service in helping others, but also helping ourselves. Richland County has many service organizations where people are encouraged to be involved in.
