Students from the advanced sixth, seventh and eighth grade science classes presented their projects to judges from the Sidney community at the Sidney Middle School science fair Wednesday. Project topics ranged from wind energy to energy drinks to seed germination and a variety of others.

The process or steps that students used to complete these projects begins with determining a project topic and form possible answers (hypothesis), before conducting the experimental phase of their projects. Students prepared reports of their project progress for grades in their classes and then prepared display boards and oral presentations for the judges’ portion of the science fair.

Sixteen of the Sidney Middle School students will travel to Billings on Friday and Saturday to display their science project exhibits at the Deaconess Regional Science Expo and take in various science activities at the Expo.
