‘Live it up!’ event scheduled for Sept. 13

Published on Sunday, August 29, 2010 7:07 AM MDT

Dr. Ramona Klein presents “Laugh for the Health of It” presentation during 2008’s “Live it up!” Each year the event draws around 150 women from the area. This year’s topic is “Honor Your Princesshood” and promises to be very entertaining. Tickets are available at Sidney Health Center’s Caring Corner Gift Shop for $15 each.

Sidney Health Center will host its fourth “Live it up!” event for women on Sept. 13 with a focus on aging gracefully with a sense of humor while maintaining good health.

The theme for the evening will be “Honoring Your Princesshood” by encouraging attendees to appreciate and care for themselves while enjoying the pleasures of life.

Once again, the evening at the Sidney Elks Lodge promises to be fun, educational and entertaining. The festivities will kick-off with a social and vendor fair at 5:30 p.m. featuring various independent distributors offering goods ranging from home décor to jewelry to skin products. A light menu including appetizers, finger foods and refreshments will be served prior to the entertaining, interactive presentation by guest speaker Mary Pierce at 7 p.m.

Pierce, who is the author of three inspirational books for women, will be flying in from Wisconsin to entertain the crowd with her presentation entitled, “When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head?”

This light-hearted program promises to be fun-filled with motivating advice. After all, what’s a woman to do when she’s caught between the dream of impossible perfection and the slightly lumpy, slightly frumpy realities of life? Live in denial? Get a shot of Botox? No! (Well, maybe a little Botox…)

In her presentation, Pierce will encourage women to appreciate themselves just they way there are, less than perfect but perfectly loveable!

To take part in this fun, educational program individuals must be 21 years of age. All “Live it up!” events are designed to empower women to live life to the fullest by encouraging them to care for themselves and the ones they love. Tickets are available at Sidney Health Center’s Caring Corner Gift Shop for $15 per ticket prior to the event.
