The Sidney Run/Bike Club thanks all of the sponsors, volunteers and the participants that helped make the 2010 Sidney Duathlon the success that it was. In all there were about 20 people that participated with six people participating as individuals, three female teams, three male/female teams, one male team and one very excited dog.

The duathlon consisted of a three-mile running course, followed by a six-mile biking trek and culminated with another three-mile run. Results from the contest, held Aug. 21, were Charles Black, Watford City, N.D., who won the overall race and the male race with a time of 61 minutes, 31 seconds. Debbra Kendopp, Sidney, won the female individual race with a time of 76 minutes and 16 seconds.

The overall team winners were Sarah Petrik and Kelly Wunderwald, who also took home the honor of being the top female team. Their time was 68 minutes, 41 seconds. Mixed team winners were Wade Whiteman and Maxine Haverkamp, and the top male team consisted of Tim Fine and Paul Turek.

While medals were given to top winners in each division and cash prizes were awarded to the overall winners, no one went home empty-handed as there were plenty of door prizes given away thanks to the very generous sponsors.
