The Ruth M. Maschera Teaching Scholarship was established in 2003 in memory of Ruth M. Maschera, a longtime teacher and supporter of Savage Schools. Because of her love of teaching, her family awards a $300 annual scholarship to one graduating senior from Savage Schools who pursues a career in the education field.

Casie Ler is awarded the 2010 scholarship and is attending Minot State University. She’s majoring in elementary education and minoring in special education.

Casie is the daughter of Matt and Vicky Ler. To date, the Maschera family has given out seven scholarships.
