Roosevelt County Sheriff/Coroner Freedom Crawford has released the identity of the man found in the ditch along US Highway 2 near Bainville. The body has been identified as Brian Doyle, 49, from Florida. Until approximately two weeks ago, Doyle had worked for an oil field maintenance company out of North Dakota. Foul play has not been ruled out in the investigation into Doyle’s death.

Authorities are setting up a tip line at www.rcso17.org for any tips or information about Doyle’s death. Anyone with information can also call Crime Stoppers in the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office at 406-653-2811.

" I am not against oil field workers!! My spouse and I work the field. What I am saying is that, if the oil field employed keep talking as some are, and don't let it go, then I too wil. Become resentful. Nobody had posted anything negative about oil workers until one of their own did first. Stop putting word into others mouths. Not everyone is agaist oil workers. "

Where is the Law enforcerment agency? How come I don't see the sherrif or hwy departmen written tickets ; left and right. How many more people have to die before the cops act on it? "

" In regards to Sam's post I am truly sorry for you negative opinion! It is complete BS that you blame all of us for the poor decisions of others. I am a true Montana native, and I am also employed in the oil industry I do not stereotype any trade for the tragic events that have taken place. Shame on you for you for doing so.
    GROW UP!!! "

" Unfortunately the small town innocence has been removed from Sidney. I came from a very large metro area several years ago. Because it was innocent. I am so very proud of the response this town has shown and the courage of the people. This country is having an Identity crisis. And this is your chance to prove that you are willing to fight and protect your liberty. Or whine and complain that well "someone else is responsible" or "they did it" or "those darn oil field people". Grow up people. Answer this question, if you had to provide for your family, what would you not do? Time to stand together and make sure that all know. We love this town and our way of life. And we will be watching and willing to take action to protect our own. And that goes for anyone that is here, resident, worker, visitor. Take pride in the fact we are Americans. "

" I have never had a problem with any oil field workers until now. Just keep your mouths running you have been and soon all of the oil field supporters like me will eventually turn. Is that what you are striving for??? "

" Another point... it's very likely Waters/Spell were arrested before Doyle disappeared so it's a non issue whether they could have killed him. Even if they did it doesn't mean he was involved, they could have kidnapped him too... to rob him. It's very likely Doyle was just some pour soul who was at the wrong place at the wrong time and a victim like Sherry Arnold. But forensics could maybe rule it in or out if he was in that vehicle but not mean he's guilty of anything. "

Common Sense wrote on Jan 27, 2012 12:55 PM:

" Um...florida has a little bigger population than we do up here. So there is probably a better chance that they didn't not know one another than there is of them knowing each other when they were both in Florida. "

" i guess you better round all the oil field workers up and put them in concentration camps, because thats the reason for all the problems in sidney lol. SMH "

" If there's any forensic link between Doyle and the vehicle of Waters/Spell it would connect them to him. Maybe a cigarette butt or gum or hair or fibers from his clothes, something he ate or drank from, fingerprints, blood, body decomposition, that cadaver dogs could spot? Hopefully the authorities are checking the vehicle for any possible clues or connection. Maybe somebody should give them a heads up to check. "

" Wondering if Brian Doyle and Lester Van Waters knew each other since they both have been in Florida, how long had he been missing?? "

Concerned wrote on Jan 26, 2012 9:09 PM:

" Doesn't this seem a little suspicious...this guy is from Florida, the same place that one of the men in the kidnapping case of Sherry Arnold is from. I think this guy has something to do with the case...maybe he wanted to talk and the other two were going to make sure he didn't. I think this should be considered a clue. Maybe I'm completely wrong but it sure does seem strange. And as far as "oilfield workers" getting bent out of shape and think they are getting blamed for everything bad that is happening....well grow up and realize that you are not all being put in the same category but you do have to realize that we did not have these problems before the influx of people started coming to our area to work so if you aren't guilty then you have nothing to worry about! "

" Let there be hope and peace in this time of hurt and sorrow for this mans family and Sherry why let this tear this community! there has this kind of stuff when whe oil field was not there Remember Mike Wolf Bruce Madson hummm don't think that was causes from the oil field come together as a community and take care of each other in this time of need! "

" I tired of everything that goes wrong around here is blamed on oilfield workers.for your information there are alot of good people that work in the oilfield. Lot of us attend church, school activities we are doing a job providing for our families, Just like a Sidney sugars, Mcdonalds ,Pamida and other employers in the area. Maybe all this trouble started from a farm laborer of A person working at the factory. Yes there are bad people in every profession that is out there. So dont knock me down cuz i work in the oilfield I am not out to get you . I do it to provide for my wife and 2 daughters "

" HM apparently you don't know the people who are natives of Sidney, or for that matter the Northwestern states. Unlike those from othwer parts of the world, most native born northwesterners are kind, concerned, and would do anything for their neighbors. We came here 18 years ago and were overwhelmed by the kindness and friendliness of Sidney people and businesses. Most of them greatly appreciate the economic boost the oil field has brought to the area. Just like most oil field workers are people who work hard and mind their own business. "

" I was worried for the family of this man and that was before his name and employment was released. SHAME on YOU!! "

Sam wrote on Jan 26, 2012 8:13 AM:

" Hm - Are you kidding me??? Why even start that crap. Have you looked at the local papers in that area. I am sure the people that know him, family and friends, have the same feelings we had when we found out Sherry was missing and then her death. This is two completely different areas. They are both passed but he is found and Sherry is not. Her kidnappers are found and his situation is unknown and still being worked on. I am sure if they needed help searching for him if they knew he was missing, everyone would have pulled together to help look, just as our community and surrounding communities help here.

Maybe you are an oil worker and that is why you feel you need to be negative. I don't care who you are, if you are such a negative person, no one will want to be around you. "

" I'm sure there a lot of people that care. Unfortunately, this man is from Florida and likely has few ties to this area & probably does not know a lot of people from the area. "

" Funny how no one's outraged and scared about this poor man's death. I wonder if it has anything to do with him being an oil worker? "
