The Richland Motor Inn will expand its facility with the addition of 27 rooms over the course of the next six months.
Mike Johnson, president of Management Consultants Inc., says with the addition the hotel will have 89 rooms.
“We’re doing it to meet the needs of the community and to improve Richland Motor Inn’s competitive position in the market place,” Johnson said.
About two-thirds of the new suite-style rooms will have a single king-size bed and additional work spaces. The other third of the rooms will have double beds.
“We hope to have it complete sometime in March,” Johnson said. Work has already started on the project, which is located at the hotel’s southeast side.
In addition to the 27 new rooms, the Richland Motor Inn is also improving its kitchen and expanding its breakfast eating area in order to offer a full, hot breakfast to guests.
An elevator is being added to make the trip from the first floor to the second floor easier. The laundry area of the hotel is also being expanded.
