Sidney’s speech, drama students win honors at meet in Hardin

The Sidney Eagles’ speech and drama team traveled to Hardin this weekend. Coaches Gail Staffanson and Christy Pierce could not be more proud of the team.

For the speech team, Christian Anglesey competed in HOI and placed first, Laura Elmore competed in SOI and placed sixth, Kasey Gorder competed in Impromptu placing fifth and in Expos placing second, Zach Sommerfield and Micheal Stevens competed in Impromptu, Danny Johnson competed in Extemp and earned third and Morgan Barnett competed in Expos and placed sixth.

The drama team earned second in Class A sweeps finishing behind last year’s state champion Belgrade.

Kaitlyn Tibbits placed fourth in Humorous Solo, Lexie Brunsvold and Tess Ler placed fifth in Humorous Duo, Tessa Hill and Emily Schaff placed eighth in Humorous Duo, John Elmore took third in Serious Solo, Rachel Ledgerwood placed fifth in Serious Solo, Sarah Turek and Camden Berka earned third in Classical Duo and Ariana Gaskin and Mark LaPan took fourth in Classical Duo.

The team is heading to Billings next weekend to compete at Billings Central.
