Fairview took first place at the R&L tournament Saturday.
“They were a tough team but the girls made some good adjustments and did not give up after losing that first set,” Fairview head coach Katrina Johnson said of playing MonDak. “I really am proud of how they played.”
In the championship, Fairview went up against the Mondak Thunder. The Warriors won in three sets with the scores, 20-25, 25-17, 15-8.
Fairview had 23 kills, four blocks, 39 digs, 17 assists and three aces.
Individual leaders for the Warriors included senior Masyn Klose with eight kills and three blocks, senior Lexi Cayko with 12 digs and senior Morgan Taylor with 16 assits.
Mondak Thunder had 23 kills, seven blocks, 10 aces and 16 assists.
Individual leaders for the Thunder included senior Kayla Rust with six kills, junior Sophia Ekness with five blocks and four aces and senior Tess Bjorgen with 15 assists.
In pool play, Fairview defeated R&L Fusion 25-14, Saco-Hinsdale 25-13 and Baineville 25-5. The Warriors only loss came from Froid-Lake in a close set with the score 25-24.
In the second round, Fairview defeated Bainville with the scores 25-19, 25-20.
Fairview took on the hosting Fusion in the semifinals and won with the scores 22-22, 25-12.
Fairview hosts Circle for a non-conference match Friday.
