Kyle Severson, 19 of Sidney, made his initial appearance Wednesday, July 3, in front of Judge Luke Savage. Severson is charged with deliberate homicide for the shooting death of Tyler Hayden that occurred on the night of Tuesday, July 2 at the Loaf ‘N Jug in Sidney.
Severson’s bond was set a $2 million with conditions if bond is posted. The defendant has obtained a public defender.
If convicted, Severson faces a maximum of the death penalty, life imprisonment or 100 years incarceration. The minimum penalty if convicted is 10 years in the state penitentiary.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, at 3 p.m.
