OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:

CAMO UP!  With some time on your hands, inspect camouflage clothing for fit and for function ahead of the bow and waterfowl seasons.  Sort out warmer-weather gear, which is lighter from the late-season stuff designed to keep you warm and arrange it in your hunting closet. Check for any wear or damage and replace or repair with some well-placed stitching.

TAKE STOCK.  With a spare hour, visit your favorite sporting goods store and stock up on the shells you’ll need for all your hunting adventures this season.  Taking inventory and buying what you need now, ahead of the season opener, will ensure you’re not scrambling the night before, or left with what remains from the other hunters who got there ahead of you!

SHARP VISION.  It’s been a while since that field knife has seen some action, and your pheasant butchering set has been put away since December.  Make sure blades are sharp and ready to cut into things once the seasons open by running them over a whetstone or your chosen sharpener.
