Montana livestock owners must pay their 2019 per capita fees to the Montana Department of Revenue by May 31.

Livestock owners can pay online at, or by mail.

March 1 was the deadline for livestock owners to report livestock they owned as of February 1. The Department of Revenue recently mailed livestock per capita fee bills to owners.

If owners already paid their 2019 fees when they reported their livestock, they will not receive a bill.

The fees fund programs to monitor animal health, prevent and investigate livestock theft, monitor and restrict livestock imports, and manage predators. All Montana also benefits from programs that prevent the spread of animal diseases to humans.

The per capita fees are set by the Montana Department of Livestock.
