Arne Skedsvold, an 89-year-old man from rural McKenzie County, N.D., died from the results of an accident that happened on Friday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Jacob Heen was backing a livestock trailer up to a fence to start loading cattle. Skedsvold, who was assisting with loading the cattle, was pinned between a fence post and the trailer.

Skedsvold was transported by personal vehicle and then by the Richland County Ambulance Service to Sidney Health Center. He passed away at the Sidney Health Center from injuries received in the accident.

The accident happened in a pasture about 20 miles southwest of Alexander, N.D. Agencies involved included the North Dakota Highway Patrol and McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office.
