Artist Holly Nickoloff knows the Sunrise Festival of the Arts in Sidney is a special time for vendors and area residents alike.

After all, the owner of True North Crafts by Holly in Culbertson grew up in Sidney. July 13 will mark the second time that Nickoloff is a vendor during the annual event held at Veterans Memorial Park.

“It was probably one of my best shows,” Nickoloff said of her time at the Sunrise Festival in 2017. “The Arts in the Park was something I always looked forward to growing up.”

Most of her sales currently come through Facebook or Etsy.

“I started out mainly hand painting Mason jars,” Nickoloff said.

Her items now include sola wood floral arrangements, wreaths and dream catchers.

“The wood flowers have become very popular on my Facebook,” Nickoloff said.

She receives her greatest inspiration from Pinterest. Her work started to increase when she decided to become a stay-at-home mom a couple of years ago.

“That’s when I decided I wanted to do a craft,” Nickoloff said.

Her favorite pieces include a wagon wheel wreath and a bubble bee Mason jar.

“I just try to come up with my own designs,” Nickoloff said. “I try to do something that hasn’t been seen before.”

She is excited to come to the Sunrise Festival of Arts at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, July 13.

“I enjoy making crafts. This was the one show that I wanted to make sure that I do,” Nickoloff said. “I look forward to seeing other vendors and their unique items.”
