At 896 25th St SE, in Sidney, resides ONEOK INC’s corporate office, the main hub of their operations in the Williston Basin. ONEOK is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with operations in 18 states, including Montana. ONEOK is one of the largest energy midstream service providers in the U.S., connecting prolific supply basins with key market centers. It owns and operates one of the nation's premier natural gas liquids systems and is a leader in the gathering, processing, storage and transportation of natural gas. ONEOK’s operations include a 38,000-mile integrated network of NGL and natural gas pipelines, processing plants, fractionators and storage facilities in the Mid-Continent, Williston, Permian and Rocky Mountain regions, per their site.
When asked what their mission as a company was, as well as their involvement in the local community, they responded with this statement:
“Currently, ONEOK employs more than 2,600 people companywide and approximately 450 in Montana and North Dakota combined. ONEOK’s core values include Ethics, Quality, Diversity, Value and Service. We recognize that good corporate citizenship is an essential responsibility. Our commitment to give back to the communities where we operate and our employees work and live is an important component of being a good neighbor. ONEOK strives to be an active member of the community and invest in programs and projects that benefit stakeholders, including our employees, customers and the general public. Building mutually beneficial partnerships with community organizations encourages collaboration amongst community organizations to create more collective impact.”
ONEOK has been active in not only employing locals, but in donating to Sidney and the surrounding area’s causes and businesses. In 2018, ONEOK received the 2018 Horizon Award from the Chamber of Commerce in Sidney, Montana. The award recognizes businesses breaking new ground and moving forward. The two previous years they were named “Employer of Choice” in Sidney. They have sponsored events including Parade of Lights, Christmas Cash, Food & Wine Fest, Glow Ball for the Sidney Soccer Association, and Business After Hours to name just a few.
ONEOK has planned approximately $6 billion worth of capital-growth projects companywide, including the Elk Creek Pipeline as well as the Demicks Lake I and Demicks Lake II natural gas processing plants in the Williston Basin. These projects will not only create jobs, but tax revenue that benefits the communities public services and school. In 2016, for example, ONEOK donated IPADS to classrooms in Sidney. While this was a direct donation, their presence alone brings in funds to further our community in education and economy.
ONEOK further stated:
“We are a company with employees who are committed to our values and culture and who work to cultivate an inclusive and dynamic work environment where every employee can find opportunities to succeed, grow and contribute.”
