The Prairie View Special Services will be conducting early childhood screenings at the following locations:
Rau/Brorson school district on March 13, from 8:30-11 a.m. For appointments, call 482-8725.
Savage school district on March 13 from 1:30-4 p.m. For appointments, call 776-2317.
Fairview school district on March 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For appointments, call 742-5265.
Lambert school district on March 27, from 8:30-11 a.m. For appointments, call 774-3333.
Richey school districd on March 27, from 2-3:30 p.m. For appointments, call 773-5523.
The purpose of the early childhood screening is to identify those children between the ages of birth and 6 who may need educational, medical or other types of assistance for problems that may not have been detected. Areas of development to be screened include vision, hearing, speech-language, fine motor, gross motor and concepts.
Children entering kindergarten next fall will also be included in this screening and are encouraged to attend.
Prairie View Special Services, Richland County Health Department and the Hi-Line Homes Program will also take part in the screenings for Richland and Dawson County schools.
These screenings are provided at no cost as a public service by each public school.
