Weather muddies up beet dumps

Producers are experiencing long lines at beet dumps, seen here on Oct. 24, as the area battles muddy conditions. Duane Peters, agriculture manager with Sidney Sugars, said mud has caused some major breakdowns at dump sites. Nonetheless, beet harvest persists with 650,000 tons of beets on the ground and about 65 percent of harvest complete.
