A list of the top 50 girl’s high school basketball players in Montana history was recently made by 406MTSports, and a Fairview native cracked the top 30.
The list was made to celebrate 50 years of girl’s basketball in the state, and Marti Kinzler (Vining) of Fairview cracked the top 30.
Kinzler was placed at No. 29 on the list, earning the spot with a great career to back it up.
For startes, she was the first player in Montana state history to surpass 2,000 career points. She eventually earned All-American honors in 1986 after four years as a First Team Class B all-stater for the Lady Warriors, according to 406MTSports.
Twice in her career, she was the Class B tournament MVP, and she was a Converse All-American honorable mention pick.
She played at Montana, where she was a First-Team Big Sky player in her senior year, and she finished her college career in the top 20 in six statistical categories.
